Holiday Marmalade Apple Crisp

Holiday Marmalade Apple Crisp

LAURA ANN’S HOLIDAY JAM is so into being paired with apples, it’s bonkers. It’s a match made on a farm in heaven. To make this extra-easy dessert, just toss apples with the jam and watch the magic happen. It’s even better with Bearclaw Kitchen Hazel & Spice Granola instead of plain ol’ oats for an extra bit of wow.

LAURA ANN’S HOLIDAY JAM APPLE CRISP

Contains gluten

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup LAURA ANN’S HOLIDAY JAM

½ cup warm water

3 pounds assorted apples, peeled and cut into ½-inch chunks

1 tablespoon organic cane sugar

½ teaspoon kosher salt

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Butter for greasing the pan

For the topping:

½ cup all-purpose flour

3 Tablespoons brown sugar

1 Tablespoon organic cane sugar

6 Tablespoons cold, unsalted butter, cut into cubes

½ cup old fashioned rolled oats (or try granola!)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a large bowl, stir together LAURA ANN’S HOLIDAY JAM and the water to thin slightly. Add the apples, sugar, salt and lemon juice and toss to coat.

  1. Arrange the apples in a well buttered 10-inch cast iron skillet or 8x8 square baking dish

  1. In the same bowl, combine the rub together the flour, sugars and butter until no floury bits remain. Add the oats and mix in. The objective is to end up with uneven sized clumps.

  1. Scatter the oat mixture on top of the apples and bake at 375F for 45 minutes or until the top is browned and the apples are bubbling. Cool and serve.
